Thank you for considering Southside Montessori School
Southside Montessori School welcomes children of all backgrounds and abilities and in the spirit of Maria Montessori, provides child centred programs to meet diversity, need and stage of development.
Enrolment is accepted on the understanding that families will be supportive of the Board, School Management team and the philosophical foundations that underpin the ethos of the School, with a commitment to following the appropriate pathways when addressing concerns relating to the child.
WHERE TO BEGIN
Choosing a school is a big decision for most families and one that requires thoughtful consideration. Our enrolment process is designed to support you on this journey in deciding whether Southside Montessori School is the right fit for you and your child.
For initial enquiries, prospective families are invited by appointment, to tour our school grounds and meet with some of our staff. This provides families an opportunity to see our large, open classrooms and ask questions about our educational programs, philosophies and values.
ENROLMENT PROCESS
Following a tour, our enrolment process begins with receipt of the completed application form, accompanied by the application fee. The appropriate application form can be downloaded from our website and must include any requested supporting documents.
WE REQUIRE EACH APPLICANT TO SUBMIT
Once the above documents and application fee has been received, we would offer your primary-aged child a trial. This is an opportunity for your child to experience a Southside classroom in action, meet fellow classmates and get a feel for our school.
ENROLMENT INTERVIEW
At the conclusion of the trial a suitability interview will take place with the teacher and Principal to provide feedback and discuss next steps. This is a wonderful opportunity to discuss the individual needs of your child and to establish expectations for the partnership between families and the school in supporting the educational goals for your child.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The key selection criteria are:
CONFIRMATION OF ENROLMENT
Once the School makes an Offer of Enrolment or Conditional Offer of Enrolment, parents/carers are required to sign and return the Enrolment Contract as soon as possible to secure their child's placement.
