Principal's welcome

Southside Montessori School exudes a warmth reminiscent of a large family. At Southside, we are a community that supports and lifts each other, much the same as you would find a family does. Our environment is characterised by a deep mutual respect for one another, our capacity for learning and our desire to discover the possible. A buzzing hive, our classrooms are filled with an energy and enthusiasm as the children explore, test, challenge and question, honing their interests and strengths.

Deeply committed to authentic Montessori education, our passionate team are driven by a shared vision for learning in a contemporary context where 21st century thinking merges with the founding legacy of Montessori methodology to re-imagine the possibilities in supporting children to thrive at school and beyond. In a fluid and dynamic world with changing demands, our staff are responsive and engaged in professional practice that supports learning to scaffold and nurture our students as they prepare for a world they are yet to determine.

The children of today will make all the discoveries of tomorrow. We must look to the children as a vehicle for bringing change to humanity. ‘Maria Montessori'

Conceived over 100 years ago, the vision of Maria Montessori to achieve a world underscored by peace has never been more relevant. Southside Montessori School is privileged to lead education reform as our students represent core values by observing grace and courtesy with one another and the broader community. As powerful advocates for change and future ambassadors of a globalised world, Southside children represent this vision as they think critically, act with integrity and lead with empathy.

We can't wait to welcome you and your family to experience our special community.
