OUR MISSION
To provide an educational experience underpinned by the philosophies of Montessori, which aims to ignite intellectual independence, with a commitment to the service of others and to a shared sense of responsibility for a future that fosters flourishing communities.

ABOUT US
Southside Montessori School is a non-denominational, co-educational school strongly grounded in the educational approach developed by Dr Maria Montessori.  Fully accredited and registered in NSW, our school delivers the Montessori National Curriculum as approved by the national regulatory body, ACARA, in 2012, integrated with the NESA (NSW Education Standards Authority) curriculum, which meets the outcomes of Key Learning Areas prescribed by ACARA.

Established over 43 years ago by a committed group of parents connected by a shared vision, the school's mission is to inspire our learners to cultivate a love of lifelong learning and continuous growth by nurturing curious wonder in action. With a strong sense of self, our learners are future focused, change makers who use critical thinking skills to draw on their own strengths and to enhance the experience of others they connect with. Guided by a moral compass, Southside graduates emerge with a sense of purpose and self determination in their commitment to sustainability, in positively influencing and shaping their world. Moving from Southside and into the broader community, Southsidians realise a future that holds potential and power for them to thrive as their authentic selves.

At Southside, we acknowledge the traditional custodians of our land and recognise that each learner’s journey contributes to our shared identity and sense of belonging. Connection to land and community is an important component in fostering civics and citizenship which characterises the school's ethos and fundamental values.
