Our Location
Southside Montessori School is located in the Georges River/Canterbury Bankstown region and has catered to families both local and out of area, for over 43 years. Set on beautiful bushland, the school holds a strong connection with the land of the Dharwal people of the Eora Nation, under which we gather, work, learn and play. Maria Montessori's pedagogy and philosophy plays out in the seamless integration of our indoor and outdoor learning environments, where the children maintain herb and vegetable gardens as well as the greater landscape of our sprawling gardens.
The physical location of our campus holds inspiration and meaning for our children and their families, emulating the Montessori philosophy that draws on a connection with nature. The school regularly accesses the Georges River national park and its estuaries including Salt Pan Creek for learning opportunities about Australian history, Indigenous studies and native flora and fauna. The children regularly engage with the natural environment on their doorstep, through bush walks in the adjacent wetlands to geography field excursions.
