What SSM parents say
A wonderful nurturing small school setting offering a unique experience for young learners to truly discover themselves and learn about the world around them. We were searching for something different to the "cookie cutter" public school system or the "academics at all cost" mindset of many private schools and we have found it. Southside has a focus on learning but also critical is student wellbeing making it the perfect school for our daughter. Great school community too. Highly recommend. Parent, Stage 2
We have had a very positive experience with the school and topping the list is our daughter's recent NAPLAN test results which were a great surprise - in most subjects she is above the Australian national average . The test results prove that the Montessori philosophy of teaching has developed and built our child's self-confidence and willingness to tackle challenging tasks. Mond Lorenzo, Stage 2
SSM is entrusting and this is self-motivating for my child. It really encourages autonomy, creative thinking and the ability for children to think for themselves. Parent, Stage 1
We moved our child to this school almost two years ago, after our experience with a nearby public school left us scarred.
The difference in the school experiences and her disposition since the transition are incredible. She is much happier, and has made huge progress academically. Our only regret is not moving her sooner. Parent, Stage 1
Beautiful place with great staff members and educators. My child absolutely loves it! She comes home every day and can't stop talking about what happened at school. She had a really bad experience at a public school so I feel like this is the right place for her to grow and learn, most importantly I believe the motivation and curiousness of young children will be greatly inspired by Montessori, which is the essence of what modern education should be, highly recommended. I wanted to say thank you again for your time and efforts in sitting down with myself to discuss my son's post trial efforts with the school. I walked away feeling informed and yet empowered because I felt like I was heard. The staff took the time and effort to reach out and assess my son as an individual as opposed to another 'face/number'. You both provided invaluable feedback and practical advice we can use moving forward. Parent, Stage 2
